Lunch and Dinner
Look forward to an early rise as you are met by our team of friendly safari guides. This is where you depart for the highly anticipated Kruger National Park adventure, which is sure to leave you changed for the better. The Kruger National Park is truly the crowning jewel of South Africa’s national parks network, providing more than 2 million of unspoiled and unrivalled diversity of its many life forms.
Enjoy the sights and sounds that this world famous park has to offer. The Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 517 birds and 147 mammals.
However, your safari experience isn’t done yet! This is the part where we explore some of the best game drive routes that the Kruger has to offer. After a morning of fun exploration, we stop off at a remote site where you enjoy a fun picnic brunch. After brunch, the rest of the day is spent exploring the many different Kruger view points and waterholes along the way.
Following a memorable day of exploration and experiences, we venture out on a late afternoon and early evening game drive with the Kruger Park Rangers. Guided by the aid of spotlights, we track elusive creatures of the night. Upon return to the modern comforts of Thornhill Safari Lodge, we enjoy yet another taste of traditional African cuisine before retiring to the peaceful sounds of the African bush for the night.
Brunch and Dinner
This is your day for leisure. Relax at the Lodge as you enjoy the African sun, lounge around our welcoming pool and sip on delicious cocktails all day, or partake in the various optional activities. These include taking an exciting Big Five game walk, or visiting a local animal rehabilitation centre or simply spending the day reading under the shade of our famous Marula trees.
Breakfast, Lunch (depending on what optional activities are done) and Dinner
Enjoy tasty homemade rusks before heading out on an early morning game drive to a neighbouring Reserve. Seeing as this isn’t a Big Five reserve, we can now place emphasis on all the other wonderful and interesting animal species, including the birds and reptiles that inhabit this magnificent area.
We depart the private reserve and enjoy spending the rest of the day exploring the sights along the Drakensberg Escarpment’s Panoramic Route, including the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, Gods Window and a few quaint little villages along the way. Following this, we make the trek back to Thornhill in the late afternoon in time to freshen up before again enjoying some delicious bushveld cooking.
Breakfast and Dinner
After a leisurely breakfast you are greeted farewell by our friendly team as you depart on the next leg of your journey.
