We’ve had a wonderfull stay at Thornhill at the beginning of october! Very friendly staff, great excursions and delicious food. About the food I have a small, rather strange, question; we ate boboti the first evening and it was the best boboti we’ve had our complete stay in South Africa. We stayed at this lodge as part of an intrepid trip and were a little worried as it was so cheap but when we got there we were just amazed. Fantastic place. The rooms were beautiful. We had an indoor and outdoor shower but only two rooms have these. The food was brilliant. Lots of variety and any dietary requirements were totally accommodated. The staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The scenery was beautiful. Animals all around. Giraffes everywhere and zebra and baboons. Really cheaply priced but for once it isn’t you get what you pay for this time you get sooooo much more than you pay for. Also a pool that looked inviting if the weather was a little warmer. You can stay here without being on an intrepid trip and I would recommend this place for all people young and old and families. They organise day trips to Kruger, scenic day trips and private game drives. All were great. I didn’t want to leave. Alli from Melbourne, Australia

“Fantastic safari experience”

We had a fantastic stay at Thornhill which we booked using Imagine Africa. This was our first safari experience and we loved it. Being on a private reserve we saw more than we had imagined and often got very close to the animals too.The lodge had a great atmosphere and there was plenty of space to be on your own or to mingle with other guests. Meal times are spent with other guests and there are several different places to eat, including outside sat around a fire. Our room was extremely comfortable, spacious and with a lovely bathroom and everything was very clean.The staff were very friendly and very helpful and were keen to make sure that we had a varied itinerary and a wonderful stay. Had a wonderful time, the staff was excellent and made sure it was a relaxing stay at the lodge.
Very good food and a couple of fellow travellers were vegetarian hence special dishes were prepared for them so quite customer focused
The location was handy, not too far from a private gaming park where the animals were in abundance and we spotted all big 5 in a single day. AV from London, United Kingdom
